They do not understand my precious

During dire situations, we must all do things we do not like. My current task at hand. I must delete some of my shows from Tivo to ensure that it does not run out of room. Now I know how Padme felt when she uttered those famous words, "Anakin, your breakin my heart".

How do you choose which program to sacrifice? Are they not all equal? Ghost shows, sci-fi shows, anime, or home improvement shows... which will it be. I'm almost tempted to leave it all alone and let Tivo pick which to delete. It would obviously go by oldest shows first and then the rest.

Damn it, I knew I should have put a bigger hard drive in it the last time I upgraded. Eighty gigs is just not enough. Okay, let me be an adult about this. I have to pick, so pick I will.

Heads or tails?

YO!!! Techie....burn the movies to DVD and free up space that way.

If you don't have a DVD burner, hang your head in shame.

Hah, I laugh at your insult and fart in your general direction.

Seriously, I would burn in them to DVD, but low and behold my friend, DVD burning support is only for Windows, (one more comma just to make sure this run on sentence is fully fucked up).

You can not do it with the Mac. Well, actually now you can with the latest Roxio Toast software. Hell, I ain't paying for that shit. I waiting for the right opportunity for the software to land on my lap. Damn Tivo has been dissing us Mac users for years now. They finally got around to making the Tivotogo software for the Mac and now incorporated the DVD burning solution in the latest Roxio software.

But you do have a point. My pansy side is showing itself. When I last upgraded my Tivo, I should have hacked the linux kernel and allowed for full access to the back end of the Tivo. I chickened out (if I had messed up the whole Tivo would have be a big ass paperweight). So, I am stuck in my predicament.

For reallyo, how could I mess with a Tivo that I got for $35 and a lifetime monthly subscription contract. All the Tivo I want, for only $35. It get's no better than that.
